|2.4.1 Volcanoes, Trunyan and the Mother Temple|
In addition to the above described tour, at no extra cost for transport, we can make a little but macabre extension to Trunyan, on the east shore of Lake Batur. Trunyan is the most remote and isolated Bali Aga village where the deceased are not cremated or buried, but simply left on the ground in open air. When the bodies are decomposed, the skulls are collected and exposed to visitors. The cemetery is only accessible by boat and count 500,000 IDR to be paid to the fisherman taking you there. The village temple is not open for visitors, so unless you want to visit the cemetery, do not go there.
